The Ministry of Education is continuing its celebration of National Library Week 2025, themed “𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀”. Following the official launch at Bureta District School last week, schools across Fiji are now hosting a variety of library-focused activities to encourage reading, creativity, and knowledge sharing among students.
This week, schools shall celebrate this important event and students are encouraged to participate in school or classroom based activities such as:
• 𝗣𝗼𝗲𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀
• 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝘀
• 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆𝘀

𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹𝘀 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝟭𝟵𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘇𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀.
The Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, encourages teachers, parents, and school leaders to actively engage students in library activities and promote a culture of reading both in schools and at home.
The Ministry continues to support schools through provision of library resources and training for teachers and librarians, especially in remote and maritime areas, to ensure that all students have equitable access to learning materials.
The Ministry urges all schools to fully participate in National Library Week activities and to make reading a regular part of students’ lives.
