In his address to coaches, officials, and organizers after the awards, the Hon. Minister highlighted that many of Fijiโ€™s international rugby stars began their journey through Kaji Rugby, formerly known as Milo Kaji. He shared his own experience as a parent attending Kaji Rugby matches because of his son, who once played in this competition and is now an international player. This personal connection signifies the value of such competitions in shaping young athletes, teaching them discipline, teamwork, respect, and life skills that go beyond sports, and providing a strong foundation for success both on and off the field.

The Honourable Minister reminded everyone of the shared responsibility to prepare children not only for sports but for life. He said rugby teaches discipline, teamwork, listening to coaches and captains, and respect and these are values that children carry into school, home, and community life. He also emphasized the importance of reflecting on studentsโ€™ behavior and ensuring extra-curricular activities help build character and good habits.

The Hon. Minister encouraged teachers, and sporting bodies, to continue working together to provide quality education and lifelong learning, while supporting children in sports and other school activities. He also reminded everyone that Term 3 is beginning soon, and Year 8 students will sit for exams, highlighting the need to balance academics with sports.

He thanked the Fiji Primary School Rugby Union for organizing the event and the secondary school teachers who assisted as officials, acknowledging their teamwork and commitment to the childrenโ€™s development.
