The Minister of Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, continued his consultations with Heads of Government Schools on Friday, 30th August and Tuesday, 3rd September 2025 at Jai Narayan College.

The meetings provided an opportunity for school leaders to share their progress and challenges, while receiving updates on key Ministry priorities.

In his address, the Minister called for greater commitment to raising academic performance, improving student participation, and tackling social issues such as drug use, bullying, and behavioural problems. He stressed that despite substantial Government investment, outcomes in many schools remain below expectations, particularly in examination results and scholarship placements.

The Honourable Minister reminded Heads of Schools of their responsibility in managing over 70,000 secondary students, underscoring the need for clear appointment letters, stronger communication channels, and decisive leadership.

He assured school leaders of the Ministry’s support through improvements in human resources, infrastructure, curriculum development, indigenous language integration, vocational pathways, and nationally recognised micro-qualifications.

The Minister concluded with a strong call for active leadership, accountability, and innovation to ensure government schools become role models in academic achievement, student wellbeing, and community engagement.
