Today, the Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro addressed stakeholders and elaborated on the importance of TVET in building a skilled and resilient workforce at Pacific Technical Institute (PTI) at Procera House in Waimnau Road, Suva.

Acknowledging the contribution of Pacific Technical Institute, Hon. Radrodro stated that as an educational institution it resembles as a centre of learning that promotes practical knowledge, lifelong skills, and community empowerment.

He also elaborated on the crucial role that TVET plays in shaping our nation’s future as the world of work is rapidly evolving and we need to focus more on reshaping industries and redefining skills that are in demand in the employment sector.

The Education Minister stressed that for Fiji and the Pacific, TVET provides a strategic pathway to equip our young people and adult learners with the competencies needed to succeed in this dynamic environment and one of the main priority areas at the Ministry of Education is to strengthen the relevance of TVET by aligning it closely with industry needs.
