EDUCATION MINISTER HIGHLIGHTS THE IMPORTANCE OF PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT DURING SCHOOL VISITS IN NAITASIRI

The Minister for Education, Honourable Radrodro, visited several schools in the province of Naitasiri yesterday, including Lutu District School, Vunidawa Sanatan School, Vunidawa District School, Nairukuruku Primary School, Nawaisomo District School, and Nakorosule District School.

Honourable Radrodro emphasised the critical role of parents in their children’s education. He called on the Vanua to actively participate in the learning journey of their child, noting that when parents engage with their children’s studies, it significantly boosts the student’s motivation and academic success. He stressed that parental support and encouragement are key to helping students stay focused and achieve their educational goals.

The Education Minister, Hon. Radrodro also addressed the importance of setting academic goals from an early age. He encouraged students to begin planning their education early and to set clear, achievable goals. According to Hon

Radrodro, doing so will create a strong foundation for their future academic growth and ensure they stay on track throughout their education.

Hon. Radrodro further reminded teachers of the powerful impact they have on shaping the lives of students. While praising their hard work and dedication, the Minister urged the teachers to continue fostering an environment that motivates and challenges students to perform to the best of their abilities. He noted that teachers are instrumental in helping students realise their full potential.

The effective use of the Free Education Grant (FEG) was also a key topic discussed during the visits. Hon. Radrodro urged school leaders to prioritise how the FEG is utilised, ensuring that it addresses the most immediate needs of the school and enhances the learning experience for students. By directing resources towards what truly benefits students, the Hon. Minister believes schools can create a more supportive and enriching educational environment.

Honourable Radrodro will continue his visits to schools across the country throughout the week to further engage with teachers, students, and communities to ensure that education remains a top priority.
