EDUCATION MINISTER DELIVERES CLOSING REMARKS AT DISTRICTS AND DIVISIONAL EDUCATION WORKSHOP

The Ministry of Education HQ held a two day workshop for District and Divisional Officers, with the theme ‘Empowering Education Leadership for Effective and Efficient Operations of Schools’. The workshop focused on critical issues that MoE has identified that needed strengthening in schools such as FEMIS input training, legislations and policies, grant utilisation and new initiatives that will be implemented.

“District and Divisional Officers are the bridges of information and monitoring between the Ministry of Education HQ and the schools,” stated Hon.Radrodro, “when these officers are properly trained and given the right information, then they can efficiently guide and monitor the schools.”

The Hon. Minister for Education reminded the officers to utilise the FEMIS platform as it will assist the Ministry of Education in gathering reliable information for decision making.

“Allowing yourself to be empowered and trained makes us more efficient in the work that we all do. We are here to provide the students, the future citizens of Fiji the best education to progress in all aspects of life,” stated the Education Minister.

Upon the conclusion of the workshop this afternoon, the District and Divisional Officers were farewelled to return home and urged to provide the necessary support and assistance to the schools at their respective Districts.
