MINISTRY OF EDUCATION PARTNERS WITH FIJI BROADCASTING CORPORATION TO CREATE EDUCATIONAL CONTENT FOR STUDENTS
The Acting Permanent Secretary for Education, Mr. Nacuva, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today with Fiji Broadcasting Corporation (FBC) General Manager of TV, Mr Sitiveni Halofaki, marking the beginning of a new partnership to create educational content for students across Fiji.
The Ministry of Education and FBC will create different programs to support learning for primary and secondary school students. These programs will be broadcast on FBC TV and will be available in Fijian, Hindi, and English to reach more students.
Programs include:
• Spell Quest Competition (Primary)
• Oratory Competition (Primary/Secondary)
• Mathematics Quiz (Primary/Secondary)
• National Debate (Primary/Secondary)
• National Quiz Competition (Primary/Secondary)
• Traditional Performance, Drama Production, National Choir, and more.
FBC will manage production, sponsorship, and broadcasting, while the Ministry will make sure the content matches the national curriculum and help with school participation. This partnership is part of the Ministry’s effort to use media to improve education and provide creative learning opportunities for students across Fiji.
