FIJI PARTNERS WITH EDUCATION PERFECT (EP) FROM NEW ZEALAND TO REVOLUTIONIZE E-LEARNING IN THE EDUCATION SECTOR

Today, the Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, delivered his keynote address during the MOE, Education Perfect (EP), and Funding Partners Meeting at Tanoa Hotel, Suva.

In his opening remarks, Hon. Radrodro stressed that since he took on the role as Minister for Education, he has worked with the MOE team to prioritize online learning in Fiji’s schools, as it is clear that our students and schools are far behind in e-learning compared to the global standard.

He also stated that this initiative aligns with the 2023 Denarau Declaration – Thematic Area 6: Digital Learning and Transformation, Information Technology, and access to digital resources, as well as SDG 4, which focuses on inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all.

“A child’s educational journey should be an enjoyable one. The learning journey needs to be holistic, where academic and non-academic learning take place hand in hand. We all know that flexible education or online learning is the best mode of teaching and learning, with an emphasis on skills, techniques, and values, which keep our children motivated to learn.”

Emphasizing the partnership and collaboration with Education Perfect, the Education Minister stated, “After months of hard work by the team and through a comprehensive tender process, the Ministry of Education has officially partnered with Education Perfect, an online learning platform from New Zealand, as the national e-learning platform of choice. This is a historical turning point in Fiji’s education system.”

Hon. Radrodro highlighted that, with a state-of-the-art e-learning platform powered by Education Perfect, the Ministry will centralize its educational content on one platform. This will revolutionize and transform how education is consumed by our students and assist our teachers’ delivery, which will be implemented soon with the Education Perfect team.

In his closing remarks, the Education Minister acknowledged the assistance of all the donor partners and also commended the work of the MOE team for working together toward the progress of online learning for students in Fiji.
