Outsource Fiji and Ministry of Education Partner to Launch Careers Fair, Opening New Pathways for Young Talent in Fiji’s Growing Outsourcing Sector
Outsource Fiji and the Ministry of Education are joining forces to deliver a high-impact career development event, the 2024 Outsourcing Careers Fair, from Wednesday 6 November 2024 to Thursday 7 November 2024, held at the Albert Park Pavilion in Suva. The initiative aims to connect Fiji’s emerging workforce, specifically, Year 11, 12, and 13 students, with one of the nation’s fastest-growing industries.
With a lineup of industry-leading employers such as Bula Outsourcing, Centrecom, DHL Express, Duco Consultancy Pte Ltd, Nearshore, Mindpearl, My Koro, Our Pacific Office, Packleader Pacific, Pepper Advantage Hub Fiji, Proficient Customer Solutions, RCL Services Pte Limited, and TKW Collective (Fiji) Pte Ltd, the fair will provide attendees with insights into a variety of career opportunities in customer service, technical support, digital marketing, finance, and more.
Outsource Fiji President, Ms Morika Hunter, states that attendees will gain an inside look at an industry that offers not only robust career growth but also competitive compensation packages that are above Fiji’s minimum wage, along with comprehensive upskilling and training opportunities.
“Fiji’s outsourcing industry is uniquely positioned to offer young Fijians fulfilling, well-paying careers with real opportunities for advancement. Through this event, we aim to give students the knowledge they need to thrive, develop essential skills, and work in an industry that places them at the heart of the global business landscape, while allowing them to stay rooted at home.”
Additionally, she notes that while working in the industry, students and job seekers will have the unique chance to learn international systems and processes, acquiring skills that align with global standards and preparing them for collaboration with international clients.
The Acting Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Education, Mr Meli Nacuva echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the fair’s role in supporting Fiji’s youth. “The outsourcing sector is generating quality jobs and provides young talent with structured pathways for growth. We’re proud to support an initiative that empowers students to explore the unique career benefits of working in an industry that connects Fiji to the global economy.”
The fair will be accessible to students from 10am to 5.30pm on Wednesday, November 6, and from 9am to 5.30pm on Thursday, November 7. Evening sessions from 5.30pm to 6.30pm will be open to the general public, empowering aspiring professionals to seize their chance to enter the industry.
