CAREER AND CURRICULUM SUPPORT DELIVERED TO YASAWA SCHOOLS BY TSLS AND MOE

The Careers team from the Ministry of Education, and the Tertiary Scholarship Scheme (TSLS), recently visited Yasawa North High School in Nacula and Yasawa High School in Naviti to provide career guidance for students and curriculum support for primary school teachers.

During the visit, the TSLS officer discussed the 2025 Tertiary Scholarships Schemes available for students. The Senior Curriculum Advisor for Secondary Careers offered counseling guidance for teachers, while the Senior Curriculum Advisor for Primary Careers led a professional development session focused on the Careers Curriculum review for primary educators.

Yasawa students also benefited from a session on examination tips, complemented by counseling sessions for both students and teachers who required additional support. The team aimed to maximize their impact in these remote rural areas. Additionally, a Community Awareness Program was held for parents and guardians.

The team also took the opportunity to visit the schools’ TVET sections and gather data on the schools’ pending needs.
