The Acting Minister for Education, Hon.Alitia Bainivalu delivered her keynote message to students, teachers, Head of Schools and senior officials from across government ministries during the Inaugural MOE Dedication Service at FMF Gymnasium in Suva.
Hon. Bainivalu stated that education plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our country and it is not merely about imparting knowledge but it is about empowering individuals to realise their full potential, pursue their passions, and contribute meaningfully to society.
“Students, as you approach your external examinations, I take this opportunity to commend you all for your hard work, dedication, commitment and perseverance throughout your academic journey.”
“These External exams represent an important milestone and I with your parents and guardians and your dedicated teachers have full confidence in your ability to succeed.”
Acknowledging the contribution of the parents and teachers she thanked them for sacrificing their time, money and committing to the paradigm shift in the journey of learning, “You have pressed on, and in the coming days and weeks we will witness the result of many days, weeks and months of hardwork.”
“Your future lies in your decision and your attitude towards achieving it. We, as a nation are proud of your efforts, and I wish each one of you the best of luck in your exams,” she added.
She urged everyone to maximize the immense contributions of the Coalition Government through the educational assistance in setting a career plan.
The Acting Minister concluded her address with two Bible Verses: Psalm 121 – Verse 2
” My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth” ; and
Isaish 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you;I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
The Fiji Year 8 Examination is scheduled from 24 September – 26 September, The Fiji Year 13 Certificate Examination is scheduled from 28 October to 8 November and The Fiji Year 12 Certificate Examination is scheduled from 12 November to 22 November.
