The Ministry of Educationβs Asset Infrastructure Services (AIS) Unit yesterday responded to a request from the management of Saint Thomas Primary School in Lautoka, delivering two high-performance tents to serve as temporary classrooms.
The two 72mΒ² tents were installed on the school grounds to accommodate students from two existing classrooms that have been severely infested with termites. These affected classrooms are scheduled for demolition to make way for the construction of a new 1 x 2 classroom block.
The temporary tents will ensure that learning continues uninterrupted while the damaged classrooms are safely removed and preparations begin for the construction of a new 1 x 2 classroom block.
Works are being carried out in coordination with the school management and relevant stakeholders.
