The Ministry of Education through the department of Library Services of Fiji (LSF) celebrates the National Library Week (NLW) annually to advocate on the importance of library, books and reading.

The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Libraries for Sustainable Communities’ focuses on the vital role libraries play in fostering sustainability, resilience, inclusivity, and accessibility within communities.

The department of LSF will be launching the NLW celebration at the Bureta District School, Levuka on the 12^th of September 2025, 10.00 AM – 2.00 PM and the closing at the Suva Grammer School on the 19^th of September 2025, 10.00 AM – 2.00 PM.

This important event will be celebrated in school, and public libraries. You are also requested to celebrate this important event in your organization to uplift reading and literacy.
