Naitasiri Secondary School proudly hosted its 2025 Cadet Passout Parade at the school grounds today, celebrating the successful completion of cadet training by 284 students from Years 9, 10, and 11. The event was officiated by the Minister for Education. Honourable Aseri Radrodro.

The Hon. Minister commended the cadets for their dedication, discipline, and teamwork throughout the four-week training program, which has become a hallmark of Naitasiri Secondary School’s identity.

β€œCadet training is a journey of transformation,” Minister Radrodro said. β€œIt builds not just the body, but the mind and heart, shaping students into confident, responsible leaders.”

This year marks the third consecutive year that the school has participated in the School Cadet Training Programme. Over the past month, students have developed essential life skills such as perseverance, cooperation, and respect, which will serve them both in school and in future endeavours.

The Hon. Minister also acknowledged the invaluable support from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, the Fiji Navy, and the school’s Cadet Committee. He extended his appreciation to the teachers, parents, and guardians for their role in nurturing the students academically and in character.

Honourable Radrodro took a moment to speak directly to Year 12 and Year 13 students preparing for their external examinations. He reminded them that their parents, guardians, teachers, and the government have provided support, but the responsibility ultimately rests with the students themselves.

He emphasized the importance of studying hard, listening to teachers, respecting parents, and staying focused on their goals. He also encouraged them to explore future opportunities, including programs at FNU, USP, and other local universities, as well as scholarships offered by TSLS.

β€œKnow what you want, plan for it, and take steps now,” Hon. Radrodro said. β€œThe choices you make today will shape the person you become tomorrow. Create your own identity and make your school, your family, and your village proud. Let the world one day recognize you for who you are.”

Concluding the ceremony, the Hon. Minister reminded all cadets to carry the values of respect, service, and perseverance wherever they go. β€œLeadership begins with character,” he stated, urging students to uphold these principles in all aspects of their lives.

The event was attended by the military instructors, teachers, parents, students, old scholars, and well-wishers from the Naitasiri community.
