The Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro along with the Fiji delegation which includes the Deputy Prime Minister, Hon. Biman Prasad, Dr. Ofakilomaloma Swann and Prof. Steven Ratuva are currently attending the 99th University of the South Pacific Council Meeting at the Fale Pacifika, University of Auckland,New Zealand.
The 99th USP Council meeting was officially opened by the New Zealand Governor General, Her Excellency The Right Honourable Dame Cindy Kiro.
In her address, Her Excellency Dame Cindy stated โA Mฤori whakatauki โWhiria te taura here tฤngataโ saying that a rope is so much stronger if multiple strands are woven together. By weaving together the energies, knowledge, talents and aspirations of peoples across the Pacific โ USP has become the regionโs leading tertiary provider.โ
The Council members will be deliberating and discussing on various pertinent issues and the way forward for the USP Council.
