The Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, together with the Japanese Ambassador to Fiji, His Excellency Mr. Rokuichiro Michii, officiated the handover of new classroom facilities at Jeremiah Raibevu College and Tacirua Primary School.

The project marks a significant milestone in improving school infrastructure to create a more conducive learning environment for students. The new building at Jeremiah Raibevu College, funded by the Government of Japan at a cost of FJD $213,560, includes fully equipped classrooms for Years 12 and 13 and a modern science laboratory. The construction began in January 2020 and was completed through the collaborative efforts of the school management, PTFA, and the wider school community.

At Tacirua Primary School, the Ministry of Education funded the construction of a new classroom block and a computer lab, with a total cost of FJD $60,600. The project was supported by Nazareth Construction Company, whose reduced labour costs contributed to its successful completion.

In his remarks, Minister Radrodro thanked the Government of Japan and all stakeholders for their continued support. He urged students to make the most of the new learning spaces and encouraged parents and guardians to stay involved in their children’s education. The Minister also reminded teachers and school leaders to focus on student engagement, continuous improvement, and working closely with families to support academic achievement.

The Minister, Honorable Radrodro expressed his sincere thanks to the Government of Japan, the school management, PTFA, and all those who contributed to the successful completion of these projects.
