“As-Salaam-Alaikum” and Eid Mubarak to teachers, students and all my Muslim brothers and sisters throughout Fiji and around the world as we commemorate the joyous occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr. It is also a moment to honor the achievements of our students, the dedication of our educators, and the unwavering support of families.”
This is the message from the Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, as we celebrate the end of the holy month of Ramadan which signifies fasting, prayer, and reflection.
“Fiji being a land of celebration and diverse cultures, and it is during occasions as such that we are reminded to look beyond differences, appreciate our diversity, and embrace the values that unite us as human beings that extend beyond the boundaries of ethnicity, religion, gender and other beliefs,” he said.
While expressing his joy on Eid, the Education Minister further states “to all parents and teachers, as we celebrate the festive spirit of Eid, I encourage you all to continue fostering a culture of learning and respect within our homes and educational environments.”
“I am committed to ensuring that every child in this country has access to quality and inclusive education as it is through education that we can nurture virtues and create a better world for future generations. Our children will always seek inspiration from the actions of the adults and they must promote love for one another.”
The Education Minister highlighted that as we all celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr with our families and friends we should also take a moment to remember all those less fortunate and reach out to those in need and share our blessings with others.
