Minister for Education Champions Transforming Education through Flexible Learning Pathways

The highly anticipated Conference for Pacific Education Ministers (CPEM) officially commenced this morning in Port Moresby, marking a historic moment for education in the Pacific region. Ministers and delegates from 18 nations have gathered to address critical challenges and chart a course for transformative education under the theme, “Transforming Edukesen for a Better Pacific.”

The Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro championed the round table discussions on Transforming Education through Flexible Learning Pathways.

Hon. Radrodro emphasized on the initiatives like the entrepreneurial skills training by incorporating TVET skills training in teacher training. The implementation of Micro qualifications, main streaming of TVET at Year 9 in 15 Secondary Schools with TVET centers, Citizenship and Financial Education and the Matua Program.

“This meeting will bridge education priorities within the Pacific and will strengthen relationships with our Pacific Neighbors and ensure we continue to build strong, resilient pacific communities” says Hon. Radrodro.

The three-day conference, hosted by Papua New Guinea, the first Pacific Island nation to do so, represents a significant step towards strengthening collaborative efforts to enhance educational outcomes across the Pacific.
