MINISTRY OF EDUCATION ROLLING OUT NEW INITIATIVES TO BENEFIT TEACHERS

The Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, announced several key initiatives aimed at supporting and rewarding teachers across the country.

Honourable Radrodro outlined that the Ministry provided salary upgrades last year during the Christmas pay for 296 teachers who completed qualification upgrades, with a total financial impact of approximately $2.3 million. These upgrades are part of the Coalition Government’s ongoing efforts to recognize the hard work and dedication of teachers in Fiji.

The Ministry will implement a new initiative based on the Minimum Qualification Requirement to reward teachers with over 20 years of service. Teachers in this category will receive salary adjustments in different phases, which will be rolled out in the coming months.

The Minister for Education, Honourable Radrodro, also announced a step-up increment for 103 Assistant Principals this month. This initiative reflects the Coalition Government’s commitment to providing career growth opportunities for school leaders and ensuring that teachers are supported in their roles.
