STATEMENT BY THE HONOURABLE MINISTER FOR EDUCATION ON 2025 BACK-TO-SCHOOL SUPPORT

The Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro wishes to advise all parents, guardians and students that the Ministry of Education in consultation with Ministry of Finance will provide the necessary support and guidance to access the 2025 Back-to-School Support.

“As of today, I have been informed that some parents and guardians are still facing challenges to access the $200 Back-To-Support to purchase essential school items for their children,” stated Hon.Radrodro.

“I wish to inform everyone that Ministry of Education staff at Leve1, Senikau House in Suva will readily assist you along with officials from the district and divisional offices.”

The Education Minister reiterates that the $200 Back – To – School support application form were to be filled at the school and all the necessary information should have been verified by the Head of School prior to the due date which was 13 December, 2024.

The following concerns have been identified by the MOE Officials with the non-payment of the $200 Back – To – School assistance: incorrect FEMIS ID number in the system, incorrect BRN in the system, incorrect mobile number and incorrect mode of payment (TMO, MPaisa/MyCash). We also note that enquiries are being made by a third party which is a breach of confidentiality and late submissions by the school.

“The students who were enrolled in Year 12 in 2024 at their respective schools were required to fill in the 2025 Back – To – School Support assistance form and drop it at their respective school prior to the closing date – 13 December, 2024. These applications will be processed once the student is enrolled for school year 2025,” said Hon. Radrodro.

This initiative is aimed at alleviating the financial strain that comes with purchasing school supplies, uniforms, and other essential items needed for the upcoming school year.
