Today, the Minister for Education Honourable Aseri Radrodro, officiated the launch of the Travel & Bond Clearance Portal, AI Chatbot, and Learning Management System (LMS) held at the Holiday Inn, Suva. The Launch ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Honourable Prof. Biman Prasad, and TSLS Board Chairlady, na Gone Marama Bale na Roko Tui Dreketi Ro Teimumu Kepa.
The Minister for Education, in his keynote address, emphasized the significance of these innovations in enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and technological advancement within the education sector. The launch aligns with the Coalition Governmentβs commitment to fostering a digitally empowered Fiji.
Honorable Radrodro acknowledged TSLSβs efforts in aligning its initiatives with the 2020-2024 revised Strategic Plan, emphasizing ICT transformation as a cornerstone for delivering excellent end-to-end user experiences.
The Learning Management System (LMS) is designed to host live sessions, integrate with platforms like Zoom, and provide seamless access to learning enrichment and post-graduation services. It ensures flexibility and accessibility for students across local and international institutions, supporting their academic and professional development.
The Minister highlighted that this tool exemplifies TSLSβs commitment to fostering a tech-savvy culture while ensuring user-friendly access to essential information.The AI Chatbot will serve as a 24/7 virtual assistant, providing instant support for inquiries on scholarships, payments, counseling sessions, and more.
Honourable Radrodro acknowledged the growing influence of Generation Alpha, describing them as βtotal digital natives.β These initiatives cater to their technological preferences and position TSLS as a trailblazer in educational innovation.
The Minister for Education also encouraged aspiring educators to take advantage of the open scholarship application window, which closes on January 31, 2025. Interviews will be conducted to address teacher shortages in critical areas such as STEM and primary education while ensuring the right candidates are selected for the profession.
