EDUCATION MINISTER OFFICIALLY HANDS OVER BOAT AND ENGINE TO YASAWA SCHOOLS

It was a proud and exciting moment for students of Bukama Village School and Gaunavou Primary School, as they received a 24 ft Fiberglass boat and engine by the Minister for Education, Honorable Aseri Radrodro

The students from both the schools, which are in the Yasawa’s, will utilise the new boat to safely travel to and from school.

While delivering his remarks to the students, teachers and other important stakeholders at both the schools, Hon.Radrodro stated that the handover is part of the support by the Coalition Government which aims to improve travel for students, particularly those living in remote and maritime zones.

“This assistance is an investment in the future of our country, and we have seen the student attendance improve as well.”

“In remote and maritime zones where our students face transportation issues, boats are an optimal mode of transportation,” he added.

“At this point in time, I also wish to take this opportunity to acknowledge all our parents, teachers and members of the community for the important role that you play in providing the necessary support needed by our students in order to excel well in their studies and become successful citizens of our beloved Fiji,” said Minister Radrodro.

The Education Minister also stressed the importance of taking care of all school assets so that it can be used by more students in the future. He also emphasised to the students to focus well on their studies.
