RATU KADAVULEVU SCHOOL’S CENTENARY – HONORING 100 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE

The Ministry of Education extends its heartfelt congratulations to Ratu Kadavulevu School (RKS) family as it marks its 100th anniversary this week. The centennial celebration commenced with a church service on Sunday and a march from Suva Flea Market to Albert Park on Monday, where the Prime Minister Hon. Sitiveni Rabuka, delivered the keynote address.

The Prime Minister Hon. Rabuka spoke about RKS’s journey from its start as the “Provincial School Eastern” to the prestigious school it is now. He noted the vision of Ratu Penaia Kadavulevu, who founded the school in 1902, and highlighted its lasting commitment to academic excellence and community values.

“The vision for what we now proudly know as Ratu Kadavulevu School began in 1902 with the foresight of Ratu Penaia Kadavulevu during his tenure as Roko Tui Tailevu.”

The Prime Minister noted that over the past century, RKS has not only excelled academically but also made remarkable contributions in sports, notably holding the Deans Trophy for six consecutive years and winning the Sanix Rugby Tournament in Japan. He highlighted the school’s role in producing graduates who have excelled in various professions and made significant contributions to Fiji’s development.

Hon. Prime Minister also acknowledged how the school has grown from its early days to now having modern facilities. He encouraged students and alumni to keep embracing the values of unity, resilience, and excellence that define RKS.

“Let us take a moment to remember and honor those who came before us, the trailblazers who laid the foundation for our success,” said Hon. Rabuka.

The Ministry of Education echoes this sentiment and remains committed to supporting institutions like RKS that are vital to our nation’s future.

Congratulations to Ratu Kadavulevu School family on this remarkable achievement. We look forward to seeing the continued impact of RKS in nurturing future leaders of Fiji.

Happy centennial anniversary, LODONIANS!
