𝐅𝐢𝐣𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬

The Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro, welcomed Interim General Secretary of the Fiji Counselors Association (FCA), Ginette L. Draveisau, and an Association Executive, during an official visit in support of the announcement regarding the urgent placement of counsellors in schools throughout Fiji.

𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗔𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗱𝗿𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗖𝗔’𝘀 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗖𝗔 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀:

• 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀;

•𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱

• 𝗘𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝗿𝘀.

This first meeting aims to pave the way for exploring the possibility of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ministry of Education and the FCA.

The Ministry believes in a collaborative approach to ensure that the implementation of school-based counselling services is both sustainable and impactful in the lives of students.
