The Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, officially closed the 131st Fiji Principals Association Conference today with a strong call for leadership in schools.
Speaking to principals, he reminded them that they are the leaders of their schools and must guide teachers, students, and parents in the right direction.
“You are the CEOs of your schools. Plan well, support your teachers, and make sure students get the best learning experience,” the Minister said.
Honourable Radrodro spoke about the importance of making strong school plans, checking student learning and teacher performance, using technology and school data (FEMIS), supporting student and teacher mental health, encouraging sports, creativity and career learning, and preparing students for life after school.
The Minister also shared that the Ministry is reviewing the Education Act and the national curriculum to improve the whole education system. He thanked the principals for their work in Term 1 and encouraged them to do even better in Term 2.
“Our schools are places where students grow and succeed. Let’s lead with care and make sure no child is left behind,” said Hon. Radrodro.
