Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, highlighted the critical need to embrace digital innovation in Fiji’s classrooms, during his keynote address at the Drive Growth with Digital Transformation Workshop. The workshop was held in collaboration with digital experts from Wuhan Technical University and brought together heads of schools, teachers, and education professionals to explore the transformative role of technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in modern learning environments.

β€œThe world is changing rapidly, and our education system must keep pace,” Minister Radrodro said. β€œDigital literacy is no longer optional, it is essential for ensuring our students are prepared for the workforce of tomorrow.”

The Minister outlined the Ministry’s 10-Year Plan and reaffirmed commitments under the 2023 Denarau Declaration, with a particular focus on digital learning, IT infrastructure, and cybersecurity. He stressed the importance of internet accessibility, teacher training, and embedding AI and digital tools across all schools.

β€œThis workshop directly supports our national goal to build a digitally inclusive and innovative Fiji,” the Minister said, noting its alignment with the National Digital Strategy 2025–2030 and the National Education Policy Framework 2024–2033.

Honourable Radrodro acknowledged the valuable contribution of Wuhan Technical University experts, whose insights and training are helping equip educators with skills to adapt and thrive in the digital age. He commended all participants for their commitment to future-focused education.
