The Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, officially opened the Future Leaders Workshop today.
The workshop, first introduced in 2012 and revived this year with renewed purpose, is a key initiative by the Ministry of Education to build strong and effective school leadership in Fiji.
Honourable Radrodro welcomed 40 selected educators from across the country chosen through a national expression of interest. He congratulated them for their passion, dedication, and potential to drive change in their schools and communities.
The Minister highlighted that the 5-day workshop will cover key areas such as:
β’ Understanding the Ministryβs Strategic Foundation,
β’ Leading schools in the 21st century,
β’ Effective school and financial management,
β’ The four pillars of successful leadership: management, student learning, stakeholder engagement, and a safe learning environment.
Honourable Radrodro reminded participants that leadership is about vision, responsibility, and courage, not just holding a title.He encouraged them to engage actively throughout the workshop and to use this opportunity to grow and contribute meaningfully to the national goal of delivering quality education for all, in line with Fijiβs education strategic plan and Sustainable Development Goal 4.
The Future Leaders Workshop runs for five days and is supported by the Education Australia Fiji Education Program.
