The Minister for Education, Honourable Aseri Radrodro, officiated at the joint celebration of Nasesevia Secondary School’s 10th anniversary and Buruwa Youth Memorial School’s 35th anniversary, while also commissioning two newly constructed teachers’ quarters. The event was attended by school heads, teachers, parents, students, and village elders, all showing strong support for education in the Buruwa.

The newly commissioned teachers’ quarters, valued at $25,000, were fully funded through community-led fundraising efforts, primarily by the villagers of Nawaqadamu. The teachers’ quarters were constructed by the hardworking men and women of the village. Commending the village community for taking ownership of their development, Honourable Radrodro stated, β€œYou didn’t wait for change, you created it. That’s something to be proud of.”

Honourable Radrodro acknowledged the academic and sporting achievements of Nasesevia Secondary School, including a 100% Year 13 pass rate and recent success in athletics. He also commended the dedication of parents, teachers, and school leadership, and encouraged students to make full use of government education initiatives.
