COCA-COLA GAMES 2025 DECLARED A DRUG-FREE EVENT
The Minister for Education, Hon. Aseri Radrodro during a press conference today, officially declared the Coca-Cola Games 2025 a Drug-Free Event.
The Coca-Cola Games will be held from April 24–26, 2025 at the HFC Stadium in Suva, bringing together student-athletes from across the country. The Ministry is working closely with the Police, Ministry of Health, and other partners to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all.
Key Announcements from the Minister:
• No drugs or illegal substances are allowed. Anyone caught with them will face serious consequences.
• The Fiji Police Force will be present in full force to keep the Games safe.
• They will check bags at the entrance.
• K9 units will search for drugs.
• Suspected drug users may be tested.
• Drones and CCTV will monitor activity in and around the stadium.
• Road checkpoints will be set up with the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
Guidelines for Schools and the Public:
• Heads of Schools must ensure teachers travel with student-athletes to and from the Games.
• Students must show good behavior at all times especially on buses and in public spaces.
• Bad behavior, like rocking buses or using bad language, will not be accepted.
• Bus drivers must keep music at a respectful volume and ensure safe travel.
• Medical officers and counselors will be available at the stadium to support students if needed.
• Drug awareness brochures will be handed out to raise awareness.
• Parents are urged to speak to their children about behaving well and staying safe.
