CONSULTATION ON CITIZENSHIP AND FINANCIAL LITERACY EDUCATION PILOTS

The Ministry of Education held its first consultation on Citizenship and Financial Literacy Education pilot programs.

Stakeholders included representatives from RBF, Westpac, FNPF, FDB, FCCC, LTA, the Chinese Education Society, Fiji Catholic Teachers Association, SAAC, Corpus Christi, and teacher unions.

The pilot programs will introduce Citizenship Education for Years 1 to 4 (Primary) and Years 9 and 10 (Secondary). Financial Literacy Education will be piloted for Years 1 and 2, with an internal assessment involving students opening bank accounts.

The Ministry thanks stakeholders for their input and looks forward to advancing practical, skill-based learning.
