2024 MOE ANNUAL AWARDS DAY AT THE JETSET TOWN

The Ministry of Education (MOE) held its Annual Awards Night, celebrating the achievements of the education sector throughout the year. The event was a moment of reflection and gratitude for all involved.

The Minister for Education, Hon Radrodro expressed his joy in celebrating the festive season with everyone, highlighting the sense of unity that has defined the Ministry throughout the year. The Minister also congratulated everyone for making the effort to attend, acknowledging the dedication of all the individuals who traveled from near and far.

The Minister reflected on the past two years under the People’s Coalition Government, noting both the challenges and successes. Among the key achievements were the launch of the Denarau Declaration: 2024-2033 Fiji National Education Policy Framework, the $650 million debt write-off for over 53,000 students, and the introduction of the new Fijian Scholarship Scheme, which has helped thousands of students.

Honorable Radrodro thanked everyone for their hard work and commitment, which have driven these successes. The Minister recognized the importance of each person’s role in the growth of the education system.

The Minister emphasized the need for continuous improvement in the education sector to ensure every child thrives in their learning environment. He encouraged all educators to work together and tackle the challenges ahead, with the goal of achieving even more success in the coming year.

The Minister for Education, Hon. Radrodro, addressed ongoing issues such as the payout for teachers who have upgraded their qualifications and the planned step-up increment for Assistant Principals in January. He encouraged collaboration and open communication among all education staff to create an inclusive, supportive education system for every student.

The event was part of a busy weekend, with a sports day earlier in the day and an awards ceremony in the evening. Today, a church service was conducted before departure.
