The Minister for Education, Honorable Aseri Radrodro hosted government Heads of Schools (HOS) to a 1 day meeting on Friday 30 August, 2024.
Whilst addressing the HOS, Honorable Radrodro called for the highest and consistent standards in service delivery, “all of your schools, our schools must be flagship schools for the Nation, whether its in the classroom, in extracurricular activities, teaching resources or school infrustruture, let us deliver quality education, accessible and inclusive education, let us learn from each other and be role models to the schools around Fiji.”
Present at the meeting were the Permenant Secretary for Education, the Deputy Secretary Primary Secondary and the Directors of the various units of the Ministry.
Hon. Radrodro called for improving service delivery and conveyed his appreciation to the HOS for the hard work over the past 2 Terms and challenged them to put into their best efforts in the upcoming, Third Term.
“I congratulate and thank you all for your dedication and commitment over the past Two Terms, as we progress into the final Term, think of Innovative interventions for remedial and revision for our children, as they prepare for their external exams. Work with the communities and share your best practices with each other. I also ask you to devise methods to keep them in school for the duration of their high school journey, we must minimize school dropouts, make school life interesting by being innovative. “
This is the first meeting of Government HOS, whilst a second meeting will be convened in Term 3.
There are 11 Secondary Government Schools and 2 Primary Government Schools in Fiji.
