The Permanent Secretary, Ms. Selina Kuruleca, acknowledged that majority of teachers (69%) are women, however, only 27% of them hold school leadership roles.
In her closing remarks at the Women in School Leadership(WISL) workshop, PSE acknowledged the Australian Government for the collaboration for organising empowering workshop in recognition of the contribution of women in the education of children in Fiji.
Ms. Kuruleca encouraged the 30 women who have been chosen to be part of the 6 months extensive training to ‘walk the Talk’.
‘Empower other female teachers and girls to make a difference in all walks of life, ‘
‘We are mothers, teachers, mentors, and aspiring leaders, so let’s be doers and movers of change in our society,’ reaffirmed the Permanent Secretary for Education.
