Ballantine Memorial School, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and support from UNICEF, is pleased to have been able to provide a Temporary Drying Shelter to address the pressing needs of hostel students and staff.
During a recent period of inclement weather, the Permanent Secretary Ms Kuruleca observed the strain on clotheslines behind Mills Dorm, Brokenshire, and Tolley, noticing the challenge posed by wet clothes left out after heavy weekend rain. Ms Kuruleca, taking swift action, engaged the Teachers on Duty to find a solution.
In response, a temporary tent provided by MOE through our partnership with UNICEF, allowed the swift delivery to the school. The school and MOE AIS team erected the tent immediately.
This initiative, brought immediate relief to 153 hostel students and eased the burden on the Hostel teachers.
Ms kuruleca urges all members of the community and stakeholders of our schools to please look at what you can provide for your children. “Let’s make this year a better one for our children and staff.”
The Permanent Secretary extends best wishes to the school community for their dedication and proactive approach in addressing student welfare.
