The Minister of Education, Heritage and Arts Hon. Rosy Akbar wishes to thank parents and students who have acted responsibly and taken heed of the directive from the Ministry to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
School holidays started from Monday this week, so we urge parents to very carefully monitor the movement of their children. It is important that they stay home safe by practicing good hygiene at all times to control the spread of the deadly coronavirus. Minister Akbar humbly requests that parents keep their children engaged in activities and restrict outside movements.
Children are encourage to be supportive during this time and utilise the school holidays to revise classroom notes and engage in activities that promote healthy living such as backyard gardening and spend quality time with family members.
The Ministry is working closely with the Ministry of Health and Medical Services to create awareness and ensure the safety of our children. We need a collaborative effort to help control the spread of COVID-19 therefore, require the support from parents, children and greater community.
