MEDIA RELEASE

MESSAGE FROM MINISTRY OF EDUCATION ON TERM 1 E-TRANSPORT CARDS

The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts has successfully topped up Government subsidised student eTransport cards (blue cards), which are now eligible for redemption ahead of the start of Term 1.

To access these funds, all students carrying blue eTransport cards simply need to get the balance loaded onto their cards using the “redeem” function on any eTicketing machines installed on buses, or by visiting any Vodafone/Valuefone and Mr Mobile outlets or District Education Offices.

For added convenience, students can also use the new e-ticketing KIOSK machines at Suva, Nausori and Nadi bus stands.

All cards will be open for redemption from 8 January 2019. To ensure a smooth process, parents and students are urged to redeem these cards well in advance of the start of Term 1 on Monday 13January 2020.

For any questions please call the Ministry’s toll-free help line on 163.

 Ends (03/01/2020)

Hon. Rosy Akbar, Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts
